Hello and welcome back, Sexy!
It’s been a minute since I wrote a Sexy Hexy post.
For the new subscribers, Sexy Hexy started a few years ago as an experiment. I asked myself a simple question: Could I bring the mindfulness I found in yoga and my spirituality into my gym workouts?
Turns out that I could, and, fortunately for me, y’all loved it.
Since I stopped writing this newsletter, many of you asked me to bring it back, and I wanted to, but in November 2022, I started training for a bodybuilding competition and needed time to grow into the next phase of my fitness journey. I also wanted to understand what discipline, strength, and long-term change actually look like in this new journey.

The practices I’ve carried into the gym over the past three years, including motivation, focus, rituals, and mindset, are exactly what shaped Sexy Hexy in the first place.
What began as an experiment has become a way of life, a clearer way to think about strength and the life we can build by developing it.
Sexy Hexy returns now with a sharper purpose and more hands on, real world advice for embracing the holistic fitness experience.
Every Monday, you’ll get a message to help you reset, refocus, and realign your week with your goals. Fitness, mindset, and momentum will be delivered in a way that fits real life, not resolutions, and not chasing perfection. Trade secret: it’s okay not to do it perfectly. To paraphrase Nike, just keep doing it.

The Spark
Before we talk about goals, plans, or routines, we will always have a little inspiration or wisdom.
For this issue, here is a simple invitation:
Avoid trying to overhaul your life. Just step into this Monday with intention.
That is all a reset is, by the way: a shift in intention.
Body Breakthrough
This section will give a core physiological lesson or some other practical piece of information to help you.
Every year starts with big promises. We all do it, but real change happens quietly, day by day. Not on January 1st, but each Monday you decide to show up, and each day after that when you follow through on that intention.
A new year is fine, but a new Monday is powerful.
It is close. It is doable. It is realistic. That is why we are starting here.
I will be here every Monday to help you refocus, rebuild, and choose your next step. A fresh start does not need a holiday. It just needs you to show up in the gym, in the kitchen, and here with me each Monday.
The Flow
This section discusses how to apply the lesson or practical information in real life.
When I started my bodybuilding journey in November 2022, I thought it would be a simple one-year commitment. Go to the gym, eat well, learn posing, and step on stage.
HA! HA! HA! HA!
I did not realize how much time it takes to get stage-ready.
Contest prep is intense, but building the muscle, conditioning, and discipline to make it work often takes a year or more of consistent training, eating right, and a supplement routine.
Add in costs, out-of-stock products, delayed shipments, and the fact that everyone’s body reacts differently, and it is enough to make you want to scream.
Truthfully, it was humbling. Sometimes frustrating, but also strangely motivating.
I learned that strength is not about a single deadline. It’s about the rhythms you build, the patience you practice, and little progressions.
That said, progress is not linear, which can be soul crushing.
But if you follow along each Monday, you will get a behind-the-scenes look at my own journey, the challenges, the wins, and the lessons I have learned, so you can take proven insights and apply them to your own goals.. Additionally, you will get support when those soul crushing frustrations creep in.

Each week, I’ll share something that can help you move, recover, or level up, a tool, a playlist, a snack, a supplement, or even a quick exercise. Think of it as a small discovery you can try right away to support you in keeping the right mindset on your own fitness journey .
